According to the Eastern Zodiac, we are destined for wealth and prosperity. People will focus on real estate, agriculture, environment, territorial integrity or religious, spiritual area.
To be honest, I set myself up every year for most of those things and the truth is, so should you.
Some people wait for the lotto, a year of promised luck or a windfall of money to fall from the sky. I, on the other hand, I set goals, plan out my next 90 days and set aside time for holidays and breaks.
Here are my rules for setting goals and Planning Your Year Of Prosperity:
Develop Your Goals
I have many goals so I break it into four important categories that are important to me (and most people).
If you set some important goals for each area you will be well on your way to goal planning bliss!
Be Clear About What You Would Like To Achieve
I ask so many people this question: “So, how much money would you like to make?”
It blows me away that the answer is just – “More Money”.
Yes, I agree that more money is great but you need to measure how much “more” you really want or need. I see people working themselves to the bone not having any idea how much money they need to survive.
Make sure every goal you set has a timeframe, outcome, and action attached to it.
One & One Calendar Rule
I am still very much a pen to paper girl but I do love the online organisation. The problem is we have so many options which end up causing us more harm than good.
Consolidate all your events and dates in one place to avoid double booking yourself.
If you are familiar with Google Calendar, then you are on the right track. You can set up many different coloured calendars in the one calendar to see your schedule ahead and set reminders.
This is a “Must Have” tool to stay organised and on track! Here is a YouTube tutorial you must see.
Schedule In Your Holidays
That’s right! If you don’t plan for it, it won’t happen.
Set aside the holiday breaks you would like in the year and where you would like to go. Then you can start researching and planning ahead of time. This saves you money and keeps you motivated for the busy year ahead.
Set Up A Simple Spreadsheet – No Need For Fancy Stuff
Just keep it simple!
If you have never done this before, just start with one goal for each area of your life. Once you achieve that, there will be no stopping you on what you set out to achieve next.
Plus you will stay super focused on what you are working towards.
Set Aside Time For Planning – Or You Never Will
So if you say, “I will do it tomorrow”, it won’t get done! How do I know? Because I have made the same mistake.
I am fortunate enough to have a performance coach assisting me and keeping me accountable. It’s like having a personal trainer for success but I know not everybody has that luxury so you have to be a little bit tougher on yourself.
Set a date in your calendar, set up a notification and put at least one hour of your life aside to plan for success and what you really want.
Plan Your Next 90 Days – It’s Easier Than You Think
People say: “Bernadette, I don’t know what I’m eating for dinner tomorrow and you want me to plan my next 90 days???”
The truth is, I’m still working on being more organised around meals as well, so I don’t know what I’m having for dinner some nights either. BUT… I can tell you what is important to me – the targets I need to reach to achieve success, what I want to do more of, less of, and what I want to earn to feel successful.
So take a seat and look at the next three months. It will be the best and most productive time you ever spend on yourself.
Start Kicking Goals – Or At Least Getting Closer
There are some goals that I smash out of the park and some goals that go onto my next 90 days. Sometimes my goals change – circumstances change, things happen. I mean, that’s what makes life so exciting…
Although I promise you, that if you start planning your year of success today, you will be a step closer tomorrow.
I know many of you have a desire and dream to find old run-down houses and transform them into magnificent loved homes. So many of you are lacking the time, or the financial capacity or something has come up in life that keeps holding you back.
What I can tell you is the only thing holding you back is the story you keep creating for yourself. I have seen some of my students make life-changing decisions which will guarantee their path to prosperity in 2018.
I hope this message brings you clarity and motivation to start working on yourself so you can create the best version of you and your life.
